Since 2009, I have served our Greater Austin community in various mental health roles. The majority of my experience has been rooted in trauma processing, substance abuse counseling, grief and loss counseling, crisis intervention, acute inpatient psychiatric and medical hospital care, and advocacy. I have unique personal experience supporting trans, genderqueer, and gender variant folks and proudly welcome the LGBTQ+ community.

Life is inevitably composed of episodes of change. From new experiences and life events to trauma and loss. Transitions in life challenge ones' emotional balance. When first entering therapy, I believe that it is natural to be unable to identify all of these feelings. Often you may only know that “something is off”. My goal is to sit with you through uncertainty and walk with you through the process of self-exploration and healing.
I consider my primary therapeutic approach to be from a person-centered perspective through a combination of EMDR, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Harm Reduction, Somatic, and Motivational Interviewing. I believe that it is necessary to support every individual’s inherent ability and strength to achieve their goals.
Specifically related to substance use disorder counseling, I have extensive experience and knowledge of Opioid Treatment Programs which include the use of Methadone and Suboxone in conjunction with mental health counseling. I adhere to a Harm Reduction approach in therapy regarding substance use. There is often preexisting chronic pain which complicates recovery for individuals with Opioid Use Disorder. Complex challenges arise when trying to manage pain while maintaining sobriety. Therapy addressing both the body and mind is necessary on the path to recovery.
My most recent agency work has been in an acute care medical hospital working with patients and families who are navigating crises ranging from chronic illness diagnosis to end of life. I am well versed in general hospital practices, most medical terminology, and progression of chronic and acute illness. I have years of experience counseling patients and their loved ones in an adult Intensive Care Unit. I am very familiar with critical illness and the challenges that patients and families face during such a crisis.
I am a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor and currently offering in-person or virtual Clinical Supervision in either an individual or group setting. Supervision is much like a therapeutic relationship. A match between Supervisor and Supervisee is essential. I have experience in the following settings: community mental health, Substance Use Disorder outpatient treatment, medical social work, Victim Services, criminal courts, and acute care psychiatric hospitals. I have worked with the following adult client populations: C-PTSD, unhoused clients, LGBTQ+ clients, transgender health and mental health care, polyamorous/ENM clients, and kink community folx.
Please contact me to schedule a free interview and to discuss individual or group supervision rates.
As of May 2024, I have an estimated 3-6 month waitlist for new clients. Appointment availability can fluctuate. Please reach out to me and I can let you know an estimated timeframe for a first available appointment. I am currently only serving adults 18+. Session rates start at $150 for 50 minute individual therapy.
I am currently an in-network provider for:

Aetna
United Health Care (Optum)
Upon request, I can provide a Superbill to submit to insurance for out-of-network reimbursement as plan benefits allow.

I am committed to maintaining health and safety during the covid-19 pandemic. I offer virtual appointments as an option for all of my clients. I have limited in-person appointment availability on Mondays. During in-person appointments, I support but do not require use of N95 masks by myself and clients as requested. I wish you health.
